BIRCH BARK CANOE

Under the guidance of Métis elder Marcel Labelle, I had the grounding experience of creating a birch bark canoe. Through Indigenous knowledge, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage, I steam-bent the ribs and sealed the seams I learned sustainable practices, storytelling, and the deep spiritual connection between people, nature, and my ancestral traditions.
