ARCHITECTURAL STUDIES IN GERMANY.
I was invited through Laurentian University to Germany to study pre-World War architecture and traditional hand tool techniques. I observed the meticulous use of space in historic structures, technical building methods, and the integration of functionality with aesthetics. Working on converting a barn into a residential space, I learned structural renovation methods and proper clay and glass tile insulation and witnessed the strong work ethics and collaboration central to traditional craftsmanship. The experience emphasized preserving history while adapting to modern needs.
